Professor Rafael Irizarry
Computational Tools for Diagnostic and Biomarker Discovery
My expertise is in applied statistics and genomics. I am the developer or co-developer of several widely used methodologies and open source software packages relevant for high-throughput data pre-processing. I am part of the current leadership of the Bioconductor project. I am deeply committed to training our next generation of biostatisticians, in particular those interested in biomedical data-related research. In this endeavor I have trained or am training several Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows. I have developed several advanced statistics classes as well as the first massively open online course on data analysis for genomics.
